An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead at a Long Island home.

Officers responded to a 911 call for an aided person in Hempstead at a Botsford Street residence on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 8:40 p.m. in Hempstead.

Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old woman in the basement of the home with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her identity has not yet been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
